Les Red Hot Chili Peppers (prononcé en anglais : [ɹɛd hɑt ˈtʃɪli ˈpɛpəz]) sont un groupe de funk rock américain, originaire de Los Angeles, en Californie, actif depuis 1982. La formation actuelle s'articule autour des membres fondateurs et amis d'enfance Anthony Kiedis (chant) et Flea (basse), auxquels se joignent en 1988 Chad Smith (batterie) et John Frusciante (guitare) qui, après avoir quitté le groupe à deux occasions, le rejoint une troisième fois en 2019. La musique des Red Hot Chili Peppers se caractérise par le mélange de plusieurs genres musicaux, tels le funk rock, le rock alternatif, le funk metal et le rap rock. Les Red Hot Chili Peppers adoptent dès leurs débuts une identité artistique forte qui fait la renommée du groupe : des prestations scéniques considérées comme énergiques et magistrales, une technicité et une virtuosité instrumentales, ainsi que des textes profonds sur des thèmes comme l'amitié, l'amour, la sexualité et la drogue.
